1.Who are the characters?
The characters are 2 boys that work in a cotton mill.
2.What are they thinking?
They seem unsure about their situation and they are looking at the camera quite solemnly. They may be thinking "why am I being photographed?"
3.What are they feeling?
I think that they are feeling tired and sad about their lives/circumstances. The one on the right is scowling and making a face at the camera indicating his mood towards maybe being photographed.
4.What is the relationship between the characters?
It seems like they are maybe brothers but since it doesn't specify, its safe to assume that they are both just similar boys who work in the cotton mill.
5.What has already happened?
The two boys had just worked at the cotton mill and are outside now, perhaps taking a break from their jobs.
6.What is the story about?
The story is about child labor in the 1900s and pictures two boys being exploited for labor and their opinions on it, expressed in their facial expressions and body language. This was taken in November so it can be assumed that it is colder weather and the boy on the right does not even have shoes on his feet despite working long hours and going outside on dirt patches and the streets.

1.Who are the characters?
There are 3 characters, the main one being a young girl. The hand on her face seems to be the hand of her father. The third character seems to be a baby that is in the father's arms.
2. What are they thinking?
The girl is thinking about the situation she is in, living in Afghanistan during such a violent time.
3. What are they feeling?
The girl looks very sad, almost on the verge of tears. Her face is also quite dirty and she seems as if she is trying to seem more in control of her emotions than she actually is.
4. What is the relationship between the characters?
The relationship is one of father to daughter and then father to the baby.
5. What has already happened or what is about to happen?
It seems as if they have already experienced something traumatic by living in war zones. This is almost the aftermath of the events that they went through which can be assumed as bad experiences.
6. What is the story about?
The story is about what it is like having a family, being a parent or a child while living in such a dangerous location. It speaks to the difference between this family's life and the average life of a family living in America or a Non-warzone territory.

1. Who are the characters?
The characters are a young boy and a parent figure with their arm around the boy.
2. What are they thinking?
He seems to be somewhat perplexed by being in front of the camera. He may be wondering why he is being photographed in such a moment.
3. What are they feeling?
It looks as though he is hurt. Maybe just tired and scared as well. He is also very dirty, he was black covering his hands and his face, indication he may have been in a very dangerous/destructive situation.
4. What is the relationship between the characters?
I think the boy is the parent figure's son.
5. What has already happened or is about to happen?
They have experienced an event that left them running and scared. This picture was also taken in Afghanistan, an area heavily influenced by war.
6. What is the story about?
The reality of living and raising a family/growing up in such an area.

Part 2: Your Photograph
Activity 3
Part 1: Creative Thinking
1. What is the story?
The story is of a man walking through a location by himself and observing his surroundings. It may be contributing to the idea of being alone and what living a life of solitude is like.
2. How does each photograph contribute to the story?
The photographs that show him walking and the back of him walking from the camera contributes to the journey aspect of the photostory. It shows how he keeps moving through this place. The ones of him sitting and standing in front of the camera looking away, show the observational qualities of the man throughout the location.

Part 2: Your Photograph
Activity 4
Part 1: Creative Thinking
1. What is the story about?
The story is about a grandfather who is in a sickbed and his transition into death and then going to heaven as an angel. He is waving goodbye to his grandchild as he leaves.
2. Could the story be communicated as effectively using less photos?
Probably not. I think each photo is pretty essential to telling the story effectively.
3. If you had to remove one photo from the story, which one would it be?
I would remove the second picture because the first one gives context as to what it was before and the last 3 show him leaving as an angel through the window.
4. Why did you choose this photo?
I thought this picture expressed an idea really beautifully and a lot of people I know have experienced a grandparent's death. This interpretation could do so much to ease people's minds and are relatable.

Part 1: You're the Photographer
Part 2: You're the Editor
Part 3: Your Assessment
1. What was your idea for this story?
My idea was to follow Casey around on a school day. She is pictured doing everyday things like opening her locker, talking to friends and using the microwave during lunch. There are also more fun pictures including her by the college board and in front of faculty only signs.
2. Did your editor's selected photos match your ideas?
Yes the edited photos match my ideas.
3. How did the editor enhance the photos?
The editor enhanced the photos by fixing the contrast and the lighting of the pictures. She enhanced the picture by adding saturation and highlights.
4. Do you like the enhancements?
Yes, I like the enhancements, they really add to the pictures. I especially like the college board picture a lot.
5. How do you feel about the editor make decisions about choosing and enhancing your photographs?
I like it, I think its really important for other people to get involved in projects and have a fresh set of eyes looking at it as a whole.
7. Explain why you chose these photographs.
I chose these photographs because first of all Casey is a FANTASTIC subject for the project as a well-involved and accomplished student. She really portrays a great high school experience/daily life. I chose to do these photographs to represent school daily life and I think they present a wide range very well.
